Firstly I was going with my father and my brother only for the joy. First races were the faulted point. They were after half of year and I began with cycling at that moment. Our parents led us to sport from a child, mainly to bike. We were cycling to holidays with tents on the carrier for things on the bike. It was great fun. Remodelled Favorit was my first bike. I was cleaning it all the time. We were competing with my brother, whose machine would be nicer. My father built me real race-bike after my first races. I remember only that it was black-red coloured and I may have been sleeping with it. I loved it although it was not expensive cycle. There was no excellent equipment. I would like to say by this example that when someone is beginning with cycling he immediately needn't to have the best bike.
Jiskra Kolin was my first team because I originate from Dobsice. It is small village 15 kilometres away from Kolin. There were no MTB races at that time. It was the reason why I specialized in cycling cross country races which were very popular - about 120 competitors started in each category, nowadays it is hardly a half.
I crossed from Jiskra Kolin to Top Ten Team Teplice where led me Petr Hejduk. They supplied me bike and jersey in Teplice. I changed for Pek Servis Kolin under leading of Mr.Lacina after one year. There I started with MTB - new discipline in our republic. There also came my first successes: I finished on the fifth place The Junior European MTB Championship in France in 1994 and I won my first title of Czech Junior champion a year after success in France. I got my first "cycling" salary at the end of the first season. I bought microwave oven and new TV set for my parents. I like remembering that time. There were no stresses and troubles with results of the races. Money was not the most important thing. I was cycling for the fun.
In 1997 I crossed to Author, the best MTB team in Czech Republic at that time. It was beginning of my professional career. I gained next two titles of Czech champion - one was on mountain bike and the second in cycling cross country (later specialization of my team).
I was in representation of both disciplines (MTB and also cycling cross country). MTB World Championship was at the beginning of cycling cross country season and cycling cross country World Championship was at the beginning of MTB season. I had not any free time and there was no time for regeneration. Those were the reasons why I had to decide for one main discipline. Cycling cross country has won because I was successful in category under 23 years and round the world at time of decision making.
I stayed for long 9 years in Author where I had good material and financial rear. Recently I have felt that I need a change. It was stereo plate and I began stagnate. I knew that universal training methods are not good enough for me. I needed individualization. I left Author Team in February 2005 but have continued to cycle on bikes of their mark till these days. I made understood with Martin Havlena (owner of Universe Agency that makes bikes Author) on material ensuring.
Now I am cycling in Top Team Teplice. I have my private sponsors and I am king only for myself. Trainings are constructed by me and my fitness coach and masseur Ruda Výborný who is regular brick.
